(hereinafter the “Company”), in accordance with its management philosophy of delivering reassurance and comfort to local communities, acknowledges that it is a social responsibility to protect and properly handle personal information. It has thus established a Privacy Policy for users' personal information as set out below. It will strive to better protect personal information by following the Policy.

Privacy Policy

    The Company will properly acquire and offer personal information in accordance with Japanese Industrial Standard JIS Q 15001: 2006 (Personal Information Protection Management System – Requirements) in consideration of its business structure.

Handling of Personal Information

its communications Inc. (hereinafter the “Company”) will pay its utmost attention to handling of personal information of customers of the iTSCOM Public Wireless LAN Service as follows in accordance with the Privacy Policy in order to ensure that they will experience contented use of the Company's service.

Purposes of Use of Personal Information

The Company will use customers' personal information for the purposes specified below.
  1. Provision of the Service and other services related to the Service.
  2. Provision of services concerning the Service after conclusion of the contract and response to inquiries.
  3. Billing operations.
  4. Dispatch of program guides.
  5. Sending of questionnaires, direct mail and e-mail magazines, and provision of other information, services and products considered useful to customers.
  6. Research and analysis for maintaining and improving the level of services and preparation, publication, etc. of statistical data.
  7. Fulfillment of specific purposes to which customers have separately granted consent.
  8. Identification of customers' voices and improvement of services through recording of voice communications during phone inquiries.
  9. Personal authentication for protection of customers' information from spoofing and other rights infringement by others.
  10. Consideration and development of new services.
  11. Exercise of rights and fulfillment of obligations under contract, law and equivalents.

Use of Caller Identification Information (better known in Japan as “number display”)

At the time of receiving a phone inquiry, the Company may check the identity of a customer in order to protect customer information.

As part of this action, the Company may check the caller identification information displayed against the phone number of the customer contacting us. The Company will not use caller identification information displayed for any purpose other than customer identification.

Outsourcing of Personal Information

For fulfilling the purposes specified above, the Company may contract with an outside operator to handle customers' personal information after executing an agreement on handling of personal information.

In the event of outsourcing handling of personal information owned by the Company, the Company will select the contractor in accordance with the Company's selection criteria concerning protection of personal information and enforce its thorough protection of personal information by concluding a contract, and conduct appropriate management and supervision of the contractor at the responsibility of the Company.

Provision of Personal Information for Third Parties

The Company will never offer personal information of a customer to any third parties without the customer's consent except when the Company is obligated to use or offer personal information in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Management of Personal Information

The Company will implement and rectify its appropriate measures for safety management of customers' personal information and put the information under strict control to prevent leakage, loss or destruction of any such information.

Supervision of Employees

The Company will provide education and training on compliance with laws, ordinances and other norms pertaining to personal information to all employees engaging in the Company's operations in order to make them fully aware of the provisions.

Complaints and Inquiries on Personal Information

Upon receipt of a complaint or inquiry concerning the Company's handling of personal information, the Company will take swift response action via the Personal Information Helpdesk.

Disclosure, Correction, etc. of Personal Information

Upon request from a customer for disclosure of his or her personal information under the Company's control, the Company will in principle swiftly disclose the information requested via the Personal Information Helpdesk.
However, the Company may not disclose the personal information requested in whole or in part if any of the items below is deemed to apply. In this event, the Company will issue a notification of the reason.
  1. The customer's address entered in the application form is not consistent with his or her address registered with the Company or it is otherwise impossible to confirm identification of the person making the disclosure request as the customer concerned with the personal information.
  2. The Company is unable to verify the power of attorney in the event of an application made by the attorney.
  3. There is a deficiency in application documents submitted.
  4. The information entered in the entry field is non-existent or inaccurate.
  5. There is no response to the Company's contact to the customer contact information entered or a response to such contact suggesting unawareness or absence of approval.
  6. The requested disclosure would cause severe trouble to the Company's business operations.
  7. There is a risk of causing death, physical injury, property damage or other right infringement.
  8. The requested disclosure would constitute a violation of any other law or regulation.
Upon request from a customer for correction, addition or deletion of his or her personal information, the Company will swiftly commence investigation. In this event, the Company will conduct the requested correction, addition or deletion if it discovers an error in the personal information concerned with the request or recognizes a fact that necessitates the correction, addition or deletion as a result of the investigation.

Handling of Cookies

The Company's Web pages may use cookies as a means of access record for the purposes of maintaining efficiency of operations at the time of moving between pages and of using the page access records for reference for operations. Customers' information acquired through cookies will be used in a mechanically and statistically processed form. It will never be stored, used, disclosed or offered to third parties in any form in which individual customers are identifiable.

Optionality of Disclosure of Customers' Personal Information

If a customer does not wish to enter or provide part of his or her personal information, the Company will treat the application in respect of his or her intent. Please note, however, that as a result of this, the Company may be unable to offer all or part of its services.
